Sometimes I wonder; Do I paint my own retina to fall asleep - and wake up - to...?

Tone Aanderaa is very happy to see 2 of her paintings winning the Award of
'BEST IN PAINTING'
by Manhattan Arts Juried Gallery
Celebrating 'The Healing Power of Art'
“When the soul wishes to experience something she throws an image of the experience out before her and enters into her own image.” (Meister Eckhart) "
To me this quote serves as the best statement for what this journey of art and living is to me; Painting is a means to look, question, wonder, and search – and express it. Painting has remained my friend and constant companion - my healer - through losses and painful experiences. Through painting I attempt to communicate the sense of magic and wonder I feel – despite all - and the 'song' of this soul's journey." Belgium
'Flying Tree' - Oil on canvas, 100 cm x 80 cm)
A tree uprooted, flying, taking only the essentials with - and dancing off to a new life, a new place.

'The Girl on the Train' (Oil on canvas, 70 cm x 60 cm)

My big teenage hero was Magritte; and many years ago I made a small sculpture inspired by one of Magritte's paintings - I just recently found this again, and realized this little man I had sculpted so many years ago had a perfect likeness to the man I am about to marry:) - I was so thrilled! And this painting came as a result; (for those who are familiar with Magritte, I'm sure I don't need to point to the man in the painting:)

Both paintings will be shown in the exhibition:
